World-class granites at affordable prices!
The system that gives you a selection of world-class granite’s, at really affordable prices!
How is this possible?
You can only use lengths that are available and cannot order longer ones. When using this
system you are only able to purchase lengths by the linear metre.
We adapt the lengths to fit your kitchen requirement, so that can be cut smaller, in any
direction!
This usually works out well and you can often make good savings on other granite companies...
For simplicity and ease of use, you can purchase Abmar granite by the linear metre,
although still, it only makes use of the sizes available.
The Luxury solid 3cm thickness of quality granite is used for the Abmar system!
The standard edge profile, polished on one front edge of each length is included in the
price of each purchased length.
Other edge profiles are available at extra cost and additional polished edges (ends etc)
on purchased lengths are available, also at extra cost.
A selection of world-class granites are included in the Abmar system range, all are of excellent quality... The selection may vary from time to time according to world market prices and general availability!
Our Granite worktop joints, are normally the std “v top” joints, simply butted and they are the only joints available for Abmar granite worktops!
Please remember that to keep your costs down it is essentially to keep your additional
manufacturing requirements and alterations simple. Complex alterations or additional work
to your granite worktop are of course available for you, but increase your costs.
The following options for your granite worktops are available
Sink units created from the Abmar granite worktop can be made individually from a section
of worktop. Draining flutes, tap holes, cut outs etc are then as the price list - sink
units can also be set in lengths!
Abmar granite worktops can have almost any work or alteration to them that can be done,
providing this is within the Abmar granite size scope...
Measure the total length of all your work surfaces, remembering not to include any of the
granite twice (For example; if you have a L-shape kitchen 2m x 2.5m and by 600mm deep,
that is not 4.5 linear metres but 4.5 lm less 600mm, the granite worktop for this kitchen,
would be 3.9 lm).
Don't forget to include your over-hangs at the ends of units,
within your calculations!
The Abmar granite worktop system is essentially designed for, and possible, for a competent DIY person, kitchen fitter, jobbing builder etc. to install.
Kitchen granite worktops, using this system, can only be cross cut to reduce the
length, or the back straight cut, to reduce the depth.
The cross cut could be slightly angled, (exact template required) to assist where
ends or joints are not 90degrees.
Following an out of line, bending or twisted wall is not possible.
It is better that your back wall is straight to allow the granite worktop to butt
against it. If your wall is not straight, it is normally better and cheaper to cut
the worktop into the wall where required, rather than alter the back of the granite
worktop.
It is always far better to provide us with exact templates for cutting to size. This
is especially so, where cut-outs at the back of the granite are required to shape
arould piers. It is also essential to provide templates when hobs or sinks are involved,
especially under-mounted sinks.
Note: Templates must be of exact size and made from plywood, mdf. board or
quality hardboard. Paper, cardboard, soft hardboard and most flexible materials are
not suitable for the main worktop.
Paper templates are usually supplied with a new sink and are acceptable for sinks.
Measuring must be a very good plan or drawing, showing all requirements and sizes exactly,
and if possible, to scale.
Remember the sizes you give us... Are the sizes you get!
And also remember ends and walls, these may not always be exactly 90 degrees.
A competent person can undertake this, although we usually advise professional
installation.
Basic Instructions and installation tips can be provided, but we cannot be held
responsible for the lack of, or misinterpretation of any instructions, which could
result in any mishaps or damage, which may occur because of such.
We supply, measure, template and install your Abmar granite worktop, although we only offer installation, if we also template and visa versa!
We often mix measuring with templates.
This is not always possible, and templates would be always made for parts deemed to
require such, with easier sections measured only.
The carcase must be completely ready and clear of all obstructions including existing
sinks and old worktops before templating can take place. New kitchens must have
everything in place, including all base units and complete appliances. Sinks must be
known and manufacturers templates available.
Delays or second visits, to measure or template, are always charged for!
Your kitchen must be completely ready and prepared for your new granite worktop.
The kitchen should not have anything that prevents straightforward and immediate
work starting. Remember our installers are not plumbers, not carpenters nor electricians.
They are stone fixers only!
Any and all other supplies or work would be charged as extra!
Onsite delays that are not our fault are always charged as extra!
Please note: Any second visit, for any reason, will increase your granite worktop
installation charges by at least 50% and could be far more!
